NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed a panel to determine whether public schools should get rid of “gifted” programs. These programs challenge and stimulate the minds of talented students who are ahead of their class. The mayor’s panel recommends that gifted programs be eliminated from all public schools because they are filled “mostly with white and Asian children.”
New York Times reporter Eliza Shapiro blasted the panel for “alienating tens of thousands of mostly white and Asian families whose children are enrolled in the gifted programs and selective schools.” It turns out that if you’re smart and want to succeed in life, you can be shamed, mocked, or held back, all based on the color of your skin. If Bill de Blasio goes forward with this, he’s telling children – if your skin is white or your ancestors are from Asia, then you must dumb yourself down or else you are racist in your pursuit.
Shaming whites and Asians for their talents and ambitions
De Blasio is literally saying it’s racist to have gifted programs for smart kids while he shames the smart kids based on the color of their white skin and their Asian ancestry. This is the radical left’s ongoing insanity for enforcing “social justice.” The radical left wants a compliant population, one that is psychologically submissive and mentally oppressed, with no original voice or individual ambitions. If you dare deviate from their grandiose ideas of equality and fairness; if you do not submit to their authoritarian control, then you are classified as a racist.
Former NYC mayor Michael R. Bloomberg enacted education policies that allowed school choice, while boosting the amount of gifted and screened schools. These measures were implemented to combat decades of low performance, and they worked. Now, de Blasio wants to undo these policies and make the classroom more inclusive – even if that means shaming people of a certain race (white, Asian).

The panel recommends that high schools eliminate the screening processes for admissions and stop evaluating attendance and tardiness for admission requirements. They recommend that de Blasio get rid of standardized admissions exams for elementary gifted programs and “stop most grouping by academic ability and phase out existing gifted classes by not admitting new students.”
These “education experts” recommend replacing gifted schools with new “magnet schools” which pool together a diverse array of students who must all learn a particular subject matter. The De Blasio education panel will inevitably face backlash from all ethnicity and cultures. Parents from all backgrounds want more access to gifted programs that stimulate their children’s minds. Smart parents want their kid(s) to succeed in life. They don’t want their kids dumbed down by a system that is only concerned with some demented form of “social justice.”
Forcing inclusiveness by holding whites and Asians back could easily backfire. Families with gifted students may opt to flee the area for better educational opportunities, making it harder to achieve high quality, integrated schools.
The real public education segregation taking place in New York
The real injustice taking place in New York schools today is the segregation of children based on the number of vaccines they’ve been submitted to. In early 2019, Mayor De Blasio signed a sadistic order barring children from public schools if they were not injected by the select number of vaccines, that they, the authorities have determined to be necessary in order for children and adults to participate in society. It’s no coincidence that these are the same vaccines that are causing brain damage (encephalopathy) and spinal cord inflammation (myelitis) in children today. There’s ample evidence that De Blasio is actually hurting African American children more by mandating the MMR vaccine, a vaccine that a CDC scientist linked to a large increase in autism in African American babies.
Talented children deserve to learn and achieve and not be shamed for being white or Asian. Even more important, all children deserve the right to a public education and should never be universally segregated based on vaccine dictates, which hold back thousands of smart, healthy children and discriminate against the parent’s personal beliefs and pursuit of happiness.
